Hadan station has three faces. The face of houses gathered under the low Seunghaksan Mountain on the Hadan five-way intersection, another face of the white way entertainment area on the flatland under the mountain, and the other face, the habitat for migratory birds where time stops. If you have come to Hadan station and have some time, visit Eulsukdo Eco Park. It is an island for diverse kinds of birds to take some rest. It is an extraordinary experience to run the long and curved grass track by bike. Either you are alone, two, three, or four, the bikes are ready for all of you. There’s a 4-wheel bike for those who cannot ride the 2-wheel bike. The grass, pond, and wetland for learning under the awning is blowing out healthy energy.

Getting out the park, head to Dadaepo by bus. Number 45, 338, 11, and 96. The four buses will take you there. When you get of at Daewoo Apt. bus stop, you would know where the sea is without anyone telling you. Dadaepo, the name originated from the fish boats full of the fish and the huge sea, is always welcoming the strangers. It is the beach for someone alone rather than in a group. Dadaepo has something to attract the lonely ones. When you broke up with your lover, failed in business or subject, and there’s nothing to be done, Dadaepo beach is the perfect place for your loneliness. The sea matches Soju rather than beer.

In Haeundae and Gwangalli, the government buys the sand and put it on the beach with forkcrane as the sand is washed away by waves every year. On the other hand, Dadaepo is blessed to have tons of sand. It is located at the end of Korea, right across the sea is Japan, and the fine sand has been shatters into pieces on the way here. Dadaepo has the softest and finest sand. The people grown up in Dadaepo are familiar with this, but this is very new to the strangers. As if all the lost sands from other beaches gather here, the width of the beach gets wider and wider every year. You cannot miss the wave as walking on the sand as soft as desert. Because it is so big and wide, people riding a horse bring their horses to the beach sometimes. The horses you could see if you’re lucky match the sea at sunset. It is such an amazing view that they gallop on the white foam on the beach.

The deeper you come into the sea, the shallower the sea becomes in Dadaepo, taking you to a low sand hill. As soon as you feel like your chest going under the water, you reach the cultivated sandy plain slowly. There is no abruptly sinking floor but only the gentle slope. Due to the huge sea level change of the area, you have to rapidly step backward at sunset. At the end of the left side of the beach facing the sea, the beach trail is paved in zigzags. Walking on the narrow trail clearing the way for each other in turn, you would exhcange nods with Southeast Asians from the nearby Mujigae industrial complex to enjoy their holiday. When you make a bow with your hands held together, saying ‘Sawa Tikap’, they would smile back at you. Most of them have a good shape of mouth for smiles.

When you follow the sign on the left of the sea, you can meet a light trail course. This is the way to Morundae. It was named Morundae because the sea fog often blocks the view. Morundae is the place you have to visit if you want to take the best picture of the sunset in Busan. Take the woods bath through the unpaved path shedding some sweat. You can see mineral water springs in places while coming up Morundae. Previously it was a military area so it either regulated entrance completely or and allowed only few people to come in after checking their ID cards. Thanks to that, there is a undamaged forest preserved very well. It is also good for you to go on a picnic with a lunch box as there are quite a lot of tables and bench for your meal. If you’ve bought a sandwich and drink, don’t worry but just sit down and enjoy your meal. Then, the sun sets.

If you come up the long wooden stairs across the beach, you can reach Amisan mountain observatory. The sandy plain shows different aspects of itself with the widely open view. Look down at the sea. The sea is all over red. Take your camera out and take some pictures. You would find a proper angle for yourself with the view, or put the camera back in your bag getting shy, or find a person on your SNS list you will send the pictures to. You would send the pictures to someone you could share this beauty with. The one will ask you ‘cool. Where is it?’ Then the only thing you need to do is to send the three syllables. ‘Morundae.’ You’ve come to the sea by yourself, but you’re not alone.
